Ich bin am renovieren. Nicht erst seit letzter Woche oder letztem Monat...Ich fuehle mich also ob es ein fortwaehrender Prozess ist. Renovieren...Erneuern oder auch Wieder-neu-machen...
Diese Baustelle ist/wird mein Badezimmer. Es ist ca 1,70 x 2,0m klein. Dafuer ist es aber auch nur meins. Wir haben noch ein weiters Vollbad und ein Gaeste-WC. Was fuer ein Luxus :-) Irgendwie werde ich nie fertig...nun ist mein Badezimmer ein Projekt, das ich tatsaechlich bereits 2005 anlaesslich meines 50sten Geburtstags im September begonnen habe. Ich habe die Waende mit einer Strukturfarbe mit winzingen Glitzerpunkten gemalt. Habe meinen selbstgemachten Spiegel. (werde ich in einem anderen posting beschreiben) aufgehaengt. Neue Lampe, neues Waschbecken,
neues WC, neue Armaturen (habe ich lieber dem Klempner ueberlassen)..nun fehlt nur noch schoene Dekoration...und davor habe ich mir das Riesenvorhaben einbebroeselt, den Bereich um die Wanne herum, mit meinem selbstausgedachten Strandmosaik zu versehen...Autsch...daran bin ich fast verzweifelt...oder besser versiebtelt..oder schlimmer... Deshalb dauert diese Baustelle nun auch schon 16 Monate...Ich konnte einfach nicht weitermachen...Gluecklicherweise haben wir ein Ausweich- Badezimmer mit Wanne und Dusche..!!! Nun will ich aber endlich (seufz) diese Arbeit beenden, habe also die letzte und diese Woche Stueck fuer Stueck Glassteine, Muscheln, Kieselsteine, Schnecken, Seesterne, und so ein Zeug, das perfekt ist als Untergrund (funktioniert als Kleber und Fugenmasse zugleich) an die Wand geklebt. Ich bin richtig froh wie es aussieht. An die grosse Laengswand der Badewanne moechte ich ein altes Sprossenfenster mit dahinterliegendem Strandposter befestigen. Ich habe so die Vorstellung, damit die Illusion eines Fensters im Bad zu erzeugen. Das alte Fenster habe ich von einem Troedelhof fuer Baumaterialien geholt. Ich finde es total schoen...
Nun habe ich also gestern ueberlegt, wie das aufzuhaengen sei, ist naemlich recht schwer...und bin drauf gekommen, einen Aufhaengemechanismus fuer Kuechenschraenke zu benutzen. Hoffentlich klappt das. 
I am in the process of renovating my bathroom. This didn't start last week or last month its much more a continuing path. Renovation - renewal..or simply making over/new. This work area is/will be my bathroom which is approximately 6"x7" small. Tiny but mine. Fortunatelly we have another full bathroom and a powder room also how luxurious. Somehow it feels I never get it done...this bathroom is one of my projects that I started around my 50th birthday, september 2005. I started out painting the walls with a structural paint that looks like granite with little sparkle bits in it. Then i fixed my selfmade mirror ( will describe that in another post), new light fixture, new sink, new hardwood floor (put down myself which was quite adventurous) new toilet, new faucets for sink and bathtub (this job I rather let the plummer do). So all that is missing now is to decorate and make it look nice...So crazy me had the wonderful idea to put a beachy mosaic on the walls around the tub...OUCH!! ...I almost gave up on that one and became desparate looking for a way out...thats why this project now has been going on for more than 16 months..I could not get myself to continue. Isn't it wonderful that we have another bathroom? Eventually I decided to finish this now...so I have been adhering shells, beach glass, marbels, starfish, pebbles using a grout-and-adhesive product. And I am happy how it looks. On the long wall parallel to the tub I am going to hang an old panel window frame with a poster of the sea or beach behind it. I hope to create the illusion of a real window in my bathroom. Yesterday I was pondering how to hang it because it is really heavy, and I came up with the idea to use the hooks they use for hanging kitchen cabinets. Wish me luck that it will work.
