Naja.../Alrighty

Da ist nun das "Prachtstueck" ...Ich kann mich immer noch nicht so richtig mit dem Getuem anfreunden. Aber er sieht doch besser aus als zuvor und er macht Licht und Wind...2 Elemente, die ich absolut wichtig finde.
Die Schrankmalerei geht langsam aber stetig voran:


There it is, the wonderpiece....I still cannot really fall for that monster. However he looks so much better than before and makes light and wind , 2 elements I really think important.

Vor etwa 2 Wochen habe ich diesen Stoff gemacht

Dazu habe ich Bilder (vorher auf Leinen gedruckt), alle moeglichen Reste, Garne, Litzen, Spitzen und Pailletten zwischen 2 wasserloesliche Folien getan. Danach die ganze chose gestippelt/-stichelt mit dem Freiquiltfuesschen an meiner Bernina; die Folie im Wasser aufgeloest und das Produkt trocknen lassen. Hat sehr viel Spass gemacht...Daraus habe ich dann diese

Postkarten gemacht und im Rahmen des artnthemail Januar challenge verschickt.

2 weeks ago I made this fabric. I used pictures which had been printed on linen, lotsa remants, yarns, trims, laces, and sequins...putting the stuff between 2 sheets of watersoluble stabilizer. Then I freemotion stitched the whole thingy using the darn foot on my Bernina. Then the stabilizer was resolved and I let the product dry. This was really fun to do. I then made those pcs for the artsnthemail january challenge swap.

Ich finde Stoffmanipulation/-herstellung ein sehr spannendes Gebiet. Ich habe zum Beispiel auch mit folgendem Geraetdas benutzt frau sonst zum Abstreichen der Farbrolle....
und diesem Stoff

herumgespielt. Ich habe den Stoff nass gemacht und auf das Gitter gelegt. Dann habe ich mit einem Bleistiftradiergummi den Stoff durch die Loecher gedrueckt. Das Ganze so trocknen lassen und dann auf die Rueckseite Vlieseline gebuegelt. Das Ergebnis ist ein sogenannter Popcornstoff. Erinnert mich an Pflaumenkuchen....


I find fabric manipulation and production a very interesting subject. For example some time ago I played around with this tool, a painter's grid and this red acetat material. After soaking the fabric in warm water I put it on the grid and used a pencil eraser to push it thru the grid holes. Then I let it dry that way and ironed on a garment stabilizer on the back. The result is a popcorn fabric, looks almost like plum cake to me.
